In addition, salt helps to keep blood sugar stable, an important aspect to fat loss diets.  If a person wants to lose weight, he must be sure to keep maintain his blood sugar in order to help prevent the release of too much insulin, a fat storing hormone.

But one of the most surprising benefits of salt is its ability to control and restore blood pressure to its proper rate.  Yes, that’s right.  Salt can help control your blood pressure!

But it must be the right kind of salt.  The salt you should be purchasing is unrefined, unprocessed sea salt.  When you purchase, check the label and be sure it specifically states that it is unrefined and unprocessed.  If it doesn’t, pass it by. 

Your Fat Loss Efforts Needs Fat to Work

Here’s another surprising fact: you need to eat fat as a part of healthy fat loss diets. 

Fat is essential to a properly functioning body.  It is indispensable to the proper operation of your brain, your hormones, your immune system, and your digestion.  Some fats can also help prevent heart disease, cancer, and arthritis.  The right fats can even help you burn fat.

Now before you break out all those high fat snacks, remember, like salt, you have to eat the right kinds of fats to get the proper benefits.

Two of the different types of fat that is essential to good health are Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.  You need this fat, but your body can’t make them.  Therefore, you have to bring them into your body from outside sources.

Omega 6 fatty acids aren’t too hard to find.  There are found in many foods including grains, vegetable oils, and processed foods.  Unfortunately, many people are eating far too many Omega 6s in their diets.

In contrast, many people aren’t getting enough Omega 3 fatty acids.  The ratio in the body should be 1:4, Omega 3s to Omega 6s.  However, some people have a ratio more like 1:50.

So where can you find Omega 3s?  Fish like salmon and sardines contain this fat.  So do leafy vegetables and organic eggs.  Walnuts and flax seeds also contain Omega 3s.

Salt and Fat You Should Avoid At All Costs

Now it is important to note that not all fat and salt is good for you.  After all, there is some truth to the idea that salt contributes to high blood pressure. 

Whatever you do, stay away from table salt.  This processed salt is the one that doctors are warning us to steer clear of.      

Similarly, there are also some fats you should avoid.  Trans fats, hydrogenated fats, and many vegetable oils are bad for you and should not be included in your diet.  Instead, eat and use coconut oil, olive oil, and butter for your meals and cooking.

Salt and fat are essential for healthy fat loss diets, but you must be sure to consume them in the right forms.  Use unrefined, unprocessed salt and healthy fats to get all the benefits of these two ingredients. 

So dive in unafraid.  The right salts and especially the right fats should be parts of all fat loss diets.
